Toluca Lake
Toluca Lake is an affluent neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles County, California, 12 miles northwest of Downtown. The name is also given to a private natural lake which is fed by the Los Angeles River and maintained by neighboring property owners. A small part of Toluca Lake spills over into nearby Burbank.
According to an analysis of the 2000 census data by the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles section of Toluca Lake is an affluent, domestically stable, well-educated, older-aged, low-density neighborhood of the city.
In recent years the neighborhood has been the home of noted entertainment and other personalities and was the site of the wedding reception for Ronald and Nancy Reagan. More recently yet there has been opposition to a proposed development in North Hollywood by NBCUniversal and Thomas Properties Group.
Valley Village
Valley Village is a district in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California.The 2.09-square-mile Valley Village lies north of Studio City, east of Sherman Oaks, and south/west of North Hollywood. It is bordered by the Ventura Freeway to the south, the Hollywood Freeway to the east, the Tujunga Wash to the west and Burbank Boulevard to the north.
Studio CIty
Studio City is one of 24 named communities in the San Fernando Valley, which are part of the incorporated City of Los Angeles. Only 12 miles northwest of the Los Angeles Civic Center, Studio City is nestled in the foothills of the north slope of the Santa Monica mountains, a prime location for easy access to employment centers in Hollywood, Downtown, the Valley and Beverly Hills. The Ventura Freeway from Los Angeles and the San Diego Freeway from the coastal cities gives easy access to all of Southern California. Studio City is ideally situated for living, working or relaxing in Southern California.
Studio City received its name as a result of the filming activities of Mack Sennett during the silent film era in the 1920’s. The sound stages Sennett built have been in continuous use by CBS Television. Until then, Studio City was a large parcel of rural land. Ventura Boulevard was only a country road and the Studio City Business District consisted of nothing more than a drug store, a grocery store, a small bank, a couple of hamburger stands and a few businesses.
Encino is an affluent neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. Encino has three public and eight private schools, including two private high schools, and the community has been the home of many notable people.
Sherman Oaks
Sherman Oaks is an affluent neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles, California. It has two city parks and a senior center. The neighborhood includes eight public and seven private schools. The main commercial pedestrian-friendly shopping district was established in 1999 and is known as “The Village at Sherman Oaks.” This shopping district is the heart of the commercial area. The Village at Sherman Oaks is located along Ventura Boulevard between Van Nuys Boulevard and Cedros Avenue. It continues along Van Nuys Boulevard between Ventura Boulevard and Hortense Avenue. In contrast to much of the Valley, the area is relatively urbanized, with commercial skyscrapers along Ventura Boulevard as well as scattered throughout. In addition, residential densities are highly mixed, with apartment and condominium neighborhoods alongside single-story residential ones. The area is a local hub for regional transportation, business, and shopping.
Encino
The Los Encinos State Historic Park and the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area are located in Encino.
There are approximately 3,800 businesses employing about 27,000 people.
Encino is situated in the central portion of the southern San Fernando Valley and on the north slope of the Santa Monica Mountains. It is flanked on the north by Reseda and the Sepulveda Basin, on the east by Sherman Oaks, on the southeast by Bel-Air, on the south by Brentwood and on the west by Tarzana.
Hidden Hills
The City of Hidden Hills is nestled between the western foothills of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County and the Ventura County line, California and is a gated community.
2,000 residents enjoy a city that has preserved a country way of life that has nearly vanished from the surrounding communities of Southern California. It boasts an authentic bucolic atmosphere as witnessed by the absence of sidewalks and street lights, the white three-rail fences, and bridle trails. Calabasas
Calabasas is an affluent city in Los Angeles County, California. It is located in the hills west of the San Fernando Valley and is in the northwest Santa Monica Mountains between Woodland Hills, Agoura Hills, West Hills, Hidden Hills and Malibu, California. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 23,058, up from 20,033 at the 2000 census. The city was formally incorporated in 1991. It is known for being the residence of a number of wealthy or famous people.
Vista Pointe is located along the transverse ranges that run parallel to, and between, the Ventura Freeway (U.S. 101) and Parkway Calabasas.
