Toluca Lake is an affluent neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles County, California, 12 miles northwest of Downtown. The name is also given to a private natural lake which is fed by the Los Angeles River and maintained by neighboring property owners. A small part of Toluca Lake spills over into nearby Burbank.

According to an analysis of the 2000 census data by the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles section of Toluca Lake is an affluent, domestically stable, well-educated, older-aged, low-density neighborhood of the city.

In recent years the neighborhood has been the home of noted entertainment and other personalities and was the site of the wedding reception for Ronald and Nancy Reagan. More recently yet there has been opposition to a proposed development in North Hollywood by NBCUniversal and Thomas Properties Group.

Valley Village is a district in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California.The 2.09-square-mile Valley Village lies north of Studio City, east of Sherman Oaks, and south/west of North Hollywood. It is bordered by the Ventura Freeway to the south, the Hollywood Freeway to the east, the Tujunga Wash to the west and Burbank Boulevard to the north.

The main commercial pedestrian-friendly shopping district was established in 1999 and is known as “The Village at Sherman Oaks.” This shopping district is the heart of the commercial area. The Village at Sherman Oaks is located along Ventura Boulevard between Van Nuys Boulevard and Cedros Avenue. It continues along Van Nuys Boulevard between Ventura Boulevard and Hortense Avenue. In contrast to much of the Valley, the area is relatively urbanized, with commercial skyscrapers along Ventura Boulevard as well as scattered throughout. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 23,058, up from 20,033 at the 2000 census. The city was formally incorporated in 1991. It is known for being the residence of a number of wealthy or famous people.
